Fact Sheet Assignment: The objective of this assignment is to introduce the student to research beyond basic sources. Public managers and policy makers face challenges that require an ability to effectively gather quality information and to apply the information to their decision-making processes.
Select a health or human service issue that is interesting to you. Effectively gather factual evidence that the issue is an actual public policy problem.

Write one succinct paragraph explaining why the issue is a public policy problem and offer a one sentence problem statement. Write summation paragraph. After looking at your facts, are your initial thoughts regarding the problem correct? What changed or didnt change based on your research? (Two paragraphs total with problem statement)
________ (25 points) List at least ten facts about the problem in bullet format (e.g., methamphetamine use increased 82% in Arizona from 2001 to 2002). These facts will support the problem statement. Each bulleted fact must have the proper citation and citation category in parenthesis following (see instructions below).

References must be from at least 10 different sources including: two government agencies (local, state or federal); two academic journals; and other quality sources of the students choice. Each Citation must have one to three sentences describing the source and how it relates to the policy problem
