I have an outline of what the paper should be discussing and I completed the first three pages. Public Policy topics must be incorporated into the writing. The policy process project is geared towards promoting understanding of the policy process with particular attention to each of the essential stages of the process vis-à-vis agenda setting, policy formulation/formation, policy adoption/legitimation, policy implementation, policy evaluation and change. The project is also intended to set the stage for extensive policy analysis/evaluation in PUB 5927. Students are expected to research a specific policy (legislation), identify factors (events, conditions, problems, issues) that led to the policy including sources /stakeholders; explain how the policy was formulated from start to finish (including stakeholders and their roles); explain how the policy was legitimated and adopted; assess how the policy was implemented (including relevant stakeholders and entities); evaluate implementation of the policy as it relates to policy goals; and determine optimal courses of action. A well-written executive summary; detailed and pointed conclusion among others will help in maximizing available points.
