Why? • Do you offer any incentives to your employees? • What are they and how do they work?

Locate the salary information for this position and contrast it within a geographic location or within various healthcare settings. Group Portion: 5 slides with speaker notes

Once the individual group members have completed their individual portions, the group will meet to discuss their findings. The group will then meet to discuss what they learned about the mechanisms used for strategy formulation in their U.S. long-term care facilities.

The group will then prepare a PowerPoint presentation that presents the group’s thoughts on the best ways to formulate and evaluate strategies.
In your presentation, provide examples from your research on actual strategic plans from U.S. long-term care facilities and how the facilities formulated and evaluated strategies.
Be sure to conclude your presentation with your group’s recommendations for what your long-term care facility should use to formulate and evaluate possible strategies.

When formulating strategies, there are 5 categories of strategy formulation available to utilize: directional strategies, adaptive, market entry, competitive, and implementation strategies. To be effective, the strategies must be formulated in a specific order.

Why is it so important to formulate strategies in this specific order?
Provide an example of each category of strategy formulation for discussion.
Do you feel that one type of strategy formulation is more effective than another for an acute care hospital? Why or why not?

Select the long-term care facility of your choice from any currently operational U.S. long-term care facility, and research the strategic plan it has in place.

Provide a brief overview of the composition of its strategic plan.
In addition, pay particular attention to the mechanisms it has in place for evaluating and selecting strategic alternatives.
If none are readily visible, analyze the strategies in an effort to make educated assumptions on what tools might have been used, or what you feel should have been used (i.e., needs assessments, demand analyses, etc.).
Explain which strategies were/are used, and the reasons for the use of such tools.
