Product Warranties
Provide an original and substantive response to the questions posed in your Journal in a minimum of 200 words.
Product warranties are an interesting liability on a client’s books. When a car company issues a recall for a defective part, management can easily determine the number of units sold and to whom, as well as estimate the parts and labor necessary. Chances are a good number of consumers will elect to have the work done.
Think about other companies, such as a luggage manufacturer. Suppose you purchased a luggage set 5 years ago for $300. The luggage came with a lifetime warranty, serviced only by the manufacturer and not the retailer. You have noticed a rip in the fabric, but you do not want to go through the trouble of mailing the suitcase back for repair. Of course the company would honor your claim if you chose to send in your suitcase, but did they set aside proper liability reserves?
If you were auditing the luggage company, how would you gain confidence in management’s accounting for warranty claims?
Would you assume the company adequately accounts for the number of people who might make claims?
What information would you use to gain confidence in their valuation?
What are some other warranty
Discussion 1 – Gambling Addiction – Answer in 100 – 150 words Gambling addiction is very interesting. With drugs and alcohol there is obvious physical component regarding how the drugs interact in the brain. But – gambling doesn’t directly act on your pleasure center of the brain – it begins behaviorally. How do we get addicted to gambling? Discussion 2 – The word addiction – Answer in 100-150 words In our society we tend to put the word “addiction’ in front of a lot of different behaviors. Examples: addicted to shopping, addicted to gambling, addicted to love, etc. etc. Are these accurate uses of the word? Or do we overuse it in our society, thereby diminishing it’s value? Discussion 3 – The question “Why” = Answer in 100-150 words This discussion makes me think about the question ‘why’. “Why” is an important question. Why do people continue to engage in negative behaviors? This is a question you will continually ask yourself as a professional in the field. The better question is to ask is “What is positive for them?” – in other words – What are they getting out of engaging in this behavior? We all do things for various different reasons. Unless we can understand why someone continues to do something – we can’t help them stop. lets be honest – everyone who smokes knows the health risks and dangers. And everyone continues to smoke. They are getting something from smoking – whether it’s relaxation, or socialization, or physical, etc. etc. It is only in understanding those issues that we can help someone change
Some of Theresa’s relatives have developed type 2 diabetes by the time they are in their 50s. Theresa is determined that this will not happen to her, so she has always avoided sweets and kept her carbohydrate intake low. She eats mostly meats, cheese, fruits, and vegetables, and she consumes only small amounts of bread, tortillas, rice, and baked goods. She assumed that this way of eating would help her maintain a healthy weight, but she is now almost 40 and her weight has gradually crept up 45 lbs in the last 10 years.
Why do you think Theresa has gradually gained weight?
What changes could Theresa make to overturn her gradual weight gain as well as decrease her risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Final Project Guidelines
For your Final Project, you select an individual you do not know well to interview (e.g., classmate, coworker, and neighbor). This individual must be different from you in at least two of the following ways: race and/or ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or religion.
The Final Project is a 4- to 6-page narrative that includes the following components:
1. Summary of the Interview:
Use the questions below as a base for your interview, and feel free to ask your subject additional questions as needed:
List all of the aspects of your identity that you feel comfortable sharing. (If the interviewee has difficulty understanding the term identity, provide some examples such as race and/or ethnicity, gender, or religion. Try to get as complete a personal history as possible to fill in the subject’s profile.
Of those aspects, what is the one identity that you think is most important or most salient and why?
What identity is the second most important to you and why?
Which identity do you spend the least amount of time thinking about and why?
Think about your most important identity. What messages did you receive about that aspect of your identity during your childhood/adolescence? What messages have you received about that aspect of your identity as an adult?
Considering the most salient identity for you, in what ways are you similar or different from other individuals who share the same identity?
2. Create a profile
Using the ADDRESSING format, create a profile of the individual, including a summary of the interview questions.
Explain the individual’s cultural worldview.
3. Summation
Explain how this individual’s cultural worldview is similar to or different from what you know about this individual’s cultural group. Did you have any preconceived notions that you had to reevaluate after the interview? Did you find any inconsistencies between your experience and what you have read in the Learning Resources?
Explain how this interview illustrates the complexity of identity.
What implications does this interview have for a future counseling interaction you might have with someone who represents a culture/identity similar to this interviewee’s? What have you learned that you might apply in your future work with clients?
In a 4- to 6-page paper (Note: title page, reference pages, and full transcription of interview do not count toward total page count):
Provide an analysis of your interview by addressing all components outlined in these guidelines and support your findings with appropriate literature. Be sure to use APA format and correct grammar and spelling
Examination of Appraisal Approaches
In 200 words, explain the differences between the cost and sales comparison approaches in appraising properties. Is there a place for both approaches? When would each be most appropriate?
