You may choose to do either a research paper or you may conduct an interview with someone that you feel would be a good representation, an expert in their field of sport for women, and then use the research to compare, enhance, or dispute what you found out during your interview.

Conduct your research for the project utilizing the existing literature and finding your own information to support your research question and/or topic. For instance, you may do a research paper on the status of women’s sports today, how self esteem and sports are connected, women and sports internationally, or any topic you connected with in the textbook that you would like to explore further. For research papers/interview analysis I want to see critical thought, not just a review of the literature. In women’s studies, your thoughts are an important part of the discourse.

For either assignment, you will be expected to show evidence of critical thought, and that you have done further reading and research in addition to the class readings. Use the class readings as a starting point. Before you begin your work on the Research Paper or Interview Analysis, please send me an e-mail briefly outlining what you intend to do and include your research question, and I will give you the “OK” to proceed.

The minimum length of the Research Paper or Interview Analysis is 5-7 pages, double-spaced. The paper should include a title and reference page. A minimum of 4 references is required and one must include a peer reviewed source. Papers are to be in APA style. The Interview Analysis should also include the questions you created and a summary of the interview sent to me along with your assignment. Imagine you are hired by a new start-up company. You are tasked to recognize and explore a new business opportunity of creating a new product or service for your company. As part of your new business vision, you will create a business plan describing all keys elements of the business opportunity which will ultimately be presented to an executive team in a venture capital group for possible funding and execution.

Part I of the business plan will describe your business vision you plan to undertake in your company.

Write a five to six (5-6) page in which you:
Compile a business vision about the type of product or service you think your company needs to develop. Next, describe the business values and corporate values that you want to create.
Determine the need for the new product or service. Next, provide an overview of the market you intend to enter, and defend why this market is ripe for the introduction of this product or service at this particular time.
Determine the type of business model you will use for your new business opportunity. Support your response.
Formulate a feasibility analysis, and determine whether the new product or service is feasible. Identify the roadblocks that you will likely face.
Evaluate the data from your analysis, considering the source and time period. Justify the future financial condition of your company.
