How does this source fit into my research?

For your second submission towards your research paper, you will expand upon the Unit I Research Paper Topic by creating an annotated bibliography. I have chosen the Path-Goal Theory

Your annotated bibliography will include five outside sources from the CSU Online Library that you can use for the research paper due in Unit VII. In the Unit I Research Paper Topic, you located two scholarly sources. You may continue to use these sources for this assignment or choose all new articles.

Within your annotations, you will include a brief summary of the source. The summary should include answers to the following questions:

 What are the author’s main points?

 How does this source fit into my research?

 Is this source objective, or does it have a bias?

 How could I use this information in my paper?

Also, be sure to avoid including your own opinion on the contingency theory of leadership you selected and any information not related to your theory.

Each of your five sources should include a 100-150 word annotation.

Develop your own detailed problem and apply the scientific method to solve it.

Science Meets Real Life

Whether you think of yourself as an up and coming scientist or not, you use science every day. You will explore how you apply different aspects of science in your daily life in a two part project. In 1,000-words (minimum), discuss the following:

The Scientific Method

Each and every day, you are faced with having to make split-second decisions, and the need to solve random problems that you encounter. To reach those decisions and work those problems out, you are subconsciously using the scientific method. Apply the steps of the Scientific Method to two situations that could occur in your everyday life. Use the scientific method in the first scenario provided by your instructor to solve the problem at hand.

Please come up with a second detailed scenario on your own, using the categories provided by your instructor, and follow the same steps in the scientific method to find a resolution.

For both scenarios, be sure to use terminology from the scientific method (hypothesis, experiment, etc.) while describing how you would address each problem, as well as a minimum of 3 references to provide factual support.

Scenario 1: Read the course announcements to find out the assigned scenario for your project.(It is the first cold day of fall, so you decide to turn your heat on to take the “chill” out of the house. It does not turn on when you adjust the thermostat. What could be wrong? What will you do? It is a gas furnace.)

Scenario 2: Develop your own detailed problem and apply the scientific method to solve it. Your problem should fall within one of the assigned categories provided by your instructor within the course announcements.

Your Final Project should be a minimum of 1,000-words written in APA style format. As always, be sure to provide appropriate citations, references, and links to any information you use in this paper. Be sure to also avoid copying and pasting large sections of text from any given source. For help with citations, refer to the APA Quick Referenc

What will you do specifically to turn your department around to a well-functioning team with positive attitudes?

Several attitudes can be displayed in the workplace depending on conditions, management style, personal issues, and values. There are seven steps for changing attitudes in the workplace. Refer to this week’s readings on the step-by-step process for changing attitudes in the workplace. **(Attached is the paper with the step-by-step readings)**

Now, read the following scenario:

You are a new manager in the department (either major or desired management position). You discover that the majority of staff members have a negative attitude, they gossip, and have low morale. Many bring their home issues and problems to work.

Using the South University Online Library, you may also research on the topics related to attitudes and perception and write your response. Your response should be of at least three pages.

Based on the above scenario and your research, answer the following questions in a Microsoft Word document:

Explain each of the seven steps, including the substeps, with detailed, specific examples on how you will effectively change negative attitudes in your department.
What will you do specifically to turn your department around to a well-functioning team with positive attitudes?

Where are the main opportunities to improve the cycle time of this process, with respect to both actual time used and the potential best times?

The following data consists of the actual time used and potential (the best time possible for this review process) to complete each step in the review process. The actual times are based on the review of 30 projects. The potential times are subjective engineering judgment estimates.

Use the data in the table above and answer the following questions in the space provided below:

What are the sources of value-added and non-value-added work in this process?
Where are the main opportunities to improve the cycle time of this process, with respect to both actual time used and the potential best times? What strategy would you use?
Step 10: Resolve Open Issues required 104 hours (potential) versus 106 hours (actual). Is there an OFI here? Why or why not? If so, how would you attack it?
What do you think are the most difficult critical issues to deal with when designing a sound cycle time study such as this one
