Pablo believes that diversity is the most important issue in our culture, and that it is greatly underemphasized. On the other hand, Ralph rarely thinks of diversity, except when it is mentioned in the workplace. Monica is sensitized to multicultural issues because her parents are immigrants who still struggle with discrimination after being here for 20 years.
To obtain a cross-section of what people think about diversity, conduct five-minute interviews with three individuals you don’t know well, and assess their views on diversity. You have been provided an Informed Consent document for the respondents to sign along with verbally consenting to participate in this assignment. This is to enable that the respondents demonstrate a clear understanding of the meaning and purpose of this assignment. While you are expected to use the informed consent form in keeping with ethical practices for data collection, you do not need to submit it to the instructor as part of the assignment.

term?
When I hear the word diversity mentioned in the workplace, in the media or in a casual conversation, the meaning I give the term is differences in age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. I see it as a vague term used for the many different people in our country.

There is no particular race, ethnic group or other minority group that comes mind when I
think of diversity. There are no two people are the same, so diversity is a word that I believes pertains to everybody.

Lack respect for cultural differences. Explain each choice.
I think there is no majority of people, but an equal 50 percent of people in our culture that respects as well as disrespects cultural differences among groups of people. There are many indifference’s to cultural differences and lack respect for cultural differences, such as hate crimes, and racism in our schools. As this is a touchy subject most of our Muslim culture here gets the blame for our recent attacks.
4.) If you were to make a suggestion about how our culture should
handle diversity over the next decade, what would it be?
No one will every understand the way someone else chooses to live unless you walk in their shoes and see what that person had to see. With that being said, we don’t need to understand it we just need to accept we are all different. That is a battle we have been fighting to accept since the beginning of time. Making meet and greets in the workplace mandatory once a month. People getting out and meeting neighbors and other community members would be a good way to start. people should not be measure by a cultural difference, age, gender, sexual orientation, or ethnic background but by the person they are, how they treat others and carry themselves. I believe if more people saw others like this it would not be so hard to accept the differences they have
