Do you believe you will need to use a software package for your project If so, would any of the three software tools you investigated for this assignment be appropriate? Why?

Software Tools for Qualitative Research

In RSCH 8301, you used NVivo software to assist with organizing and coding data you collected. However, you may be wondering if that is the only software package available to qualitative researchers and whether you even need to use a software package for your Dissertation.

Consider the Discussion topic for this week on organizing and tracking data as well as the Dissertation Rubric criteria on these topics.

To prepare for this Application:

Review this week’s required readings about computer programs available for qualitative research.
Investigate software packages other than NVivo that are available to qualitative researchers.

Select at least two software packages and compare them to NVivo.

Do you believe you will need to use a software package for your project If so, would any of the three software tools you investigated for this assignment be appropriate? Why?

The assignment:

Craft a 3- page paper and 5 references in which you do the following:

Compare and contrast software tools for managing and analyzing qualitative data.

Conclude by stating whether you believe you will need to use a software package for your dproject and, if so, whether any of the three software tools analyzed in this assignment would be appropriate

Identify three actors from your film and classify each according to the acting category listed in your text.

Mise en scène refers to different technical elements used in making a film such as lighting and sound, both of which you have already analyzed in this course. The term also encompasses the role of actors in a film, their physical positioning and movements within the frame, as well as the different styles and types of acting.

You can classify an acting category using only one film as reference, but these categories are subject to change. Each new role helps to clarify or shift an actor’s designation. Do some actors always fall into the same category? How can actors change from category to category? Does genre have any effect on the acting styles present in a given film?

Using specific examples from your chosen film, write an initial post of at least 200 words which should

  • Identify three actors from your film and classify each according to the acting category listed in your text.
  • Explain your reasons for classifying the actors as you do. Use specific references to the film and pay special attention to how these decisions impacted characterization. Also, consider the impact of any realistic or stylized portrayals within the film.
  • Focus on one of the actors you’ve discussed. Based on other films the actor has been in, would this actor always be placed in the same category? If so, what does this say about the category or actor? If not, what can you infer about the flexibility of these categories? Provide evidence (references from other films, including film clips and stills) to support your argument

Describe the sources of data needed to conduct the two measures.

After reading Chapter 1 through 4, you should be familiar with quality improvement initiatives including NCQA’s HEDIS® measures. Health plans and physicians must ensure they are meeting standards set by the accreditation agencies, such as NCQA. As a physician practice manager for Dr. Jones, you have just conducted a mock survey of the patient chart data. The data shows that your physician practice is not meeting standards for two HEDIS® measures.

Choose two HEDIS® measures (from the list below either a, b, c, d, e or f) that must be implemented in a physician practice to improve patient outcomes.
Describe the sources of data needed to conduct the two measures.
Using one of the quality improvement models (Lean, PDSA, or Six Sigma), explain how you would use the model to implement the two chosen HEDIS® Measures.

Your initial post should be 250-300 words and utilize at least one scholarly source from the Ashford University Library to justify your choice of improvement models. Cite all sources in APA format as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
