Analyze this person from two other theoretical perspectives studied in this course, except for the trait perspective.

For this assignment, you will have a chance to put into practice all you have been learning throughout this course. You will analyze the personality development of one of the theorists studied in this course from three different theoretical perspectives.

Provide feedback on how your colleagues’ interventions would help the client move toward her goals.

When thinking of classic Freudian techniques, what images come to mind? Perhaps the omniscient Freud smoking a pipe, sitting behind a client, passively taking notes– or a troubled client lying sprawled on a couch speaking about their sexuality or early experiences in dealing with aggression or angst.

Though many associate all psychodynamic theories with well-known images of Freudian psychoanalysis, the works of Jung, Adler, and other prominent psychodynamic theorists took strides to significantly depart from Freud’s theory of personality and counseling. Like humanistic theories, modern psychodynamic approaches place the counselor across from the client, actively engaging them in the counseling process. During this process however, counselors place much focus on the unconscious mind and past relationships of the client– a focus unique to psychodynamic theories.

In this Discussion, you continue to explore unique interventions and strategies derived from the psychodynamic theoretical approach. You then apply one theory, Psychoanalytic, Jungian Analytical, or Adlerian, to facilitate your interventions with Deidre.

Posting Directions: In the subject line of your post, use the following title format: “Title of Discussion: the theory you selected for this Discussion”. Your initial post must be at least 200 words in length.

Post by Day 3 a brief description of the psychoanalytic theory you selected. Then, based on this theoretical approach to describe two interventions you could employ with Deidre and explain why. Finally, explain how each of these interventions would help Deidre move toward her goals.

Respond by Day 5 to at least two of your colleagues using one or more of the following approaches:

Share additional insights to help your colleagues apply their theories in a different way.
Provide feedback on how your colleagues’ interventions would help the client move toward her goals.
Provide additional interventions for your colleagues to consider

Support your paper with a minimum of five (5) external resources In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.

Length: 11-13 pages not including title and reference pages. The flowchart will count toward the 11-13 page requirement.

Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards.

Will be checked for plaigarism.

Why must we have knowledge of computerized or traditional system’s objectives to study that system?

Employers of both accounting and IS personnel often rank “analytical reasoning” and “writing” skills on the same priority as technical skills, and some rank them even higher. Said one recruiter at the school of one author: “I can train new employees to use our computer systems and perform the majority of the technical tasks we will require of them. What I cannot train them to do is to think analytically or logically. And what I refuse to do is to teach them to speak and write clearly and effectively—skills they should have learned in high school.” Another recruiter said it slightly differently: “Give me a technically-competent accounting or IS student who can perform AIS tasks well, and I will pay them X dollars. Give me a student who can explain to my clients how our services can solve their business problems and I will pay them 2X dollars.”

Conduct a preliminary search and:

Discuss some of the other attributes beyond analytical thinking and writing skills that many employers value.
Why must we have knowledge of computerized or traditional system’s objectives to study that system?
Do roles that accountants play differ in traditional systems from their roles in computerized systems? Please discuss.

Include enough detail to substantiate your thinking as well as your position on the questions or comments.
Grading Criteria
Basic response to the DB question. 50%
Additional research supporting the initial answer to the DB question. 30%
Comments which serve to further the discussion, apply real-world examples, or lend to enhancing the clarity of the concepts.

Evaluate and revise an ethics program to increase ethical behavior within an organizational environment.

One of the most beneficial exercises in a course exploring ethics is to develop a paper that allows you the opportunity to create connections between your personal view of ethics and the theory under discussion. The nature of ethical decision making encompasses recognition, analysis and resolution.  We often don’t make a decision because it’s ethical, but rather, because it makes sense from our personal view of the situation.  That is, ethical decisions happen “after the fact” as we begin to see the actual implications of the decision.

With this in mind, your paper should explore current ethical issues in the workplace that are relevant to your current career or the career that you are preparing to pursue. Your task is to begin to explore the possible issues within your workplace and choose one to focus on throughout the course as you begin to build your final paper. Please consider the following as possible approaches for this final paper:

  • Illustrate the impact of organizational goals and objectives, structure, culture, environment, ethics policies, and incentive systems on ethical behavior within an organization
  • Evaluate and revise an ethics program to increase ethical behavior within an organizational environment.
  • Create and systematically apply a defensible ethical moral framework to a contemporary ethics issue. To systematically apply the ethical moral framework, you must use the framework consistently as you describe the ethics issue. Explore the issue using the framework you create. HINT: This is done through the application of one of the theories we have read about in this module.

Possible topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Employment issues (sexual harassment, diversity, discrimination, etc.)
  • Performance appraisal and compensation
  • Terminations
  • Privacy
  • Financial and accounting measures
  • Using reward systems to enhance ethical behavior and/or reinforce unethical behavior
  • Communicating ethics
  • Corporate social responsibility

Your final paper will be developed in four parts (topic, outline, draft, and final paper) throughout the course.

This activity is the first step in developing a final paper for this course.  From the list of possible topics, explore the possible issues within your workplace and choose one to focus on throughout the course as you begin to build your final paper. Make sure you spend time researching your topic before submission of this part; you need to know if there is sufficient information available for you to write a paper on the topic. Using MS Word, create a one-page document that describes your “topic and thesis sentence” for your Individual Research Project.  Use the following information to help you identify your topic:

Overall, did the findings in these reports effect your current opinion regarding the cost and impact of illicit drug use on our society? Explain.

After you’ve spent some time reviewing the data in the ONDCP, it’s Data Supplement, ADAM and DAWN reports, discuss one or more of the findings that you found most interesting and explain. Overall, did the findings in these reports effect your current opinion regarding the cost and impact of illicit drug use on our society? Explain.
