Does the study take individual differences in spatial ability into account? Explain your answer.

n this assignment, you will read an article about the Mozart effect and identify various parts of the research process. This exercise will help you learn how to read a research article and to understand the research process.

Read the following article:

Rauscher, F. H., Shaw, G. L., & Ky, K. N. (1993). Music and spatial task performance. Nature, 365. 6447: 611. (October 14, 1993). (ProQuest Document ID 76004658).

In your article summary, respond to the following questions:

State the research hypothesis in your own words. Identify the independent and dependent variables.
What were some variables the researchers controlled in their study? Why was this necessary?
What evidence do the researchers offer as a test of their hypothesis? Is this evidence empirical (observable)? Is it valid?
What explanation do the researchers offer for their findings? Does the evidence justify this explanation?

Read the following article:

Jenkins, J.S. (2001). The Mozart effect. Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, 94, 170-172.

Based on your readings, respond to the following:

Do you think there is any merit in the study (Rauscher, Shaw, & Ky, 1993)? Give three reasons for your position.
Does the study take individual differences in spatial ability into account? Explain your answer.
What are two ways in which the experiment could be modified to make the results more generalizable?

Write a 5–6-page paper in Word format. Apply APA standards to citation of source

Write a report of at least 400 words, telling at least three significant lessons about communication or journalism that you have learned or observed while studying “The Race Beat.”

Write a report of at least 400 words, telling at least three significant lessons about communication or journalism that you have learned or observed while studying “The Race Beat.”

Your report should be about media coverage of the civil rights movement, not about the movement itself. For example, you might want to comment on:

How journalists did their jobs during this time
The techniques they used for gathering information and interviewing
The obstacles they faced
What differences they made (for better or worse)
How the movement might have turned out differently if not for news coverage
How the emergence of TV news influenced the civil rights movement
The early and changing roles of the black press
The roles of white Southern editors, both liberal and conservative
Coverage by The New York Times, the TV networks or another particular part of the media
Whether Gunnar Myrdal’s theories turned out to be on target
How the media’s role back then compares with the media’s role now
How today’s technology is being used to bring awareness to human rights struggles around the world
What “The Race Beat” tells you about the significance to society of communication and journalism
What the civil rights news coverage teaches today’s journalists about how to do their jobs

Cite specific examples of people and incidents from the book to back up your conclusions. Don’t use footnotes; just give enough details to make the sources clear.

Make clear what your three (or more) lessons are by putting them in separate, numbered paragraphs.

Submit your report as an attachment through Blackboard. Be sure the file is in a .doc, docx, .txt or .rtf format compatible with Microsoft Word.

You will be graded on how much understanding you show of the story told in “The Race Beat”; the usefulness of your conclusions to the study of communication and journalism; how well you express your conclusions and support them with evidence; the quality and clarity of your writing; whether you use correct spelling, punctuation, grammar and AP style; and how well you follow instructions.

Select an advertising campaign used by a company which makes and markets a brand of soft drinks.

Select an advertising campaign used by a company which makes and markets a brand of soft drinks. (Remember that a campaign is a set of interrelated and coordinated marketing communication activities that center on a single theme appearing in different media across a specified time frame.) Describe the campaign, providing exhibits if possible. Be as thorough as you can in describing how the campaign elements of visual similarity, verbal similarity, and attitude similarity are present in the campaign. (Discuss each element of similarity as it is present or not present in the campaign you have selected, providing examples.) It is to your advantage to select a company which uses extensive use of these elements in their campaign for the brand. (Hint: Review Ch. 9-11 Unit, especially the unit webpage–section on this topic near the top of the page, including the extra powerpoint presentation devoted to this topic.) (Relates to Ch. 10, LO3.)

Using the above marketing communication by a brand of soft drink that you analyzed above, apply how you believe the company made use of the Integrated Marketing Communications Planning Model which illustrates steps in the IMC planning process (see the main webpage I have provided for each unit and you will see the model where specific sections may have been highlighted for illustrative purposes). A key term in the concepts of IMC and IBP is the word, “integrated.” How did this particular brand use this an important concept? (Relates to overall course student learning outcomes A and C and overall course objectives 2 and 4.).

State the research questions and hypotheses for your envisioned research topic.

Data Analysis through SPSS

State the research questions and hypotheses for your envisioned research topic. Use the data you collected for assignment 12. State the statistical tests you will use to test your hypotheses (t-test, ANOVA, regression, correlation). Conduct the statistical tests on your data. Submit the report. Your report should include the SPSS output and discussion of results.

Based on the previous order you made for me number #1345923

COMPANY RESEARCH ASSIGNMENT
Instructions
Students are to conduct a Group research assignment about a company. Your Group should interview the MIS manager of a selected company to find out what that firm does, how it does it, and how it could do it even better. A small to medium-sized firm is preferable. Groups should observe a segment or a particular function of the companys MIS operations and carry out in-depth study and analysis. A Group report should then be prepared as well as a PowerPoint presentation.
The main purpose is to identify ways the firm has used information systems to improve productivity and quality in the last 3-5 years, and to recommend specific courses of action that will lead to further productivity and quality improvements in the next couple of years.
The assignment aims to assist students to apply learned MIS concepts, skills, and strategies to real-life situations by studying the IS practice of a real-world company. By focusing on an interesting company and business process, students are expected to add to educational experience and learning should be more effective and meaningful.
This assignment will take time and effort and will require careful coordination. To assure that all Group members work smoothly and avoid the free-rider problem, it is suggested that you divide the project into tasks, assign direct responsibility to individual members, and establish deadlines for each part of the assignment (e.g., contacting firm, visit and interview, report ‘writing, preparing the presentation slides, etc.). All Group members must visit the company and participate in the interview of its MIS manager.
Suggestions
Clear agenda: First, you must have a very clear agenda of when your Group members will be able to work and meet. You should prepare a calendar of activities as soon as possible. A project calendar starts from the end, that is, from the date of the Groups presentation, back to the preparation of slides, back to report writing, and back to all the preceding necessary activities.

Topic selection: Second, a Group does generally best when the topic or area selected is interesting to its members. Any IS management topic covered in the textbook is appropriate. You may select a broad area (e. g., how does the company manage technology?) or a narrow issue (e. g., what led to the decision to purchase a specific computer?). You should invest some time finding an interesting and appropriate topic.
You should focus on a particular issue for which you can gather sufficient information, stay with it, and make it an interesting case for the rest of the class.

Company selection: Third, you must be practical in selecting a firm. A small to medium-sized firm is preferable. Generally, it is more interesting when the Group chooses a firm about which the class knows very little (i. e., stay away from McDonalds or the bagel stores). However, an important criterion is to have quick access to the company and its managers.
Some example for your company selection:
A family-owned business may prove interesting to the Group;
The workplace of one of your parents, your relatives, or your friends;
Your previous boss at a job you have held may be a simple contact.
Contact your selected company: Fourth, the way you establish the initial contact with a company is critical. You should contact the manager who is responsible for the MIS function in the firm. Be a student and polite, ask him or her for assistance with your project (but first you must have an idea of what you want to study!).
The following suggestions should be followed:
Emphasize that this is an assignment for a Management Information Systems class, that you will give them a copy of your report, and that you will not take much of their time (a minimum of one visit of about 2-3 hours).
Avoid asking for an indiscriminant plant tour or for a general interview without a clear purpose.
Insist on a specific time for a meeting or on meeting someone else in the company if the manager is not available.
Show flexibility if the manager is very busy.
Interview preparation: Fifth, prepare for the interview. The managers time is valuable, so use it effectively. Some suggestions should be followed below:
Prepare specific questions in advance. While one Group member asks a question the others should take turns at taking notes.
During the interview ask for a tour of the facilities if possible (you may have to come back to the firm).
Ask if there is another person in the company with whom the manager recommends you speak.
Inquire about any company documents (diagrams, forms, schedules, etc.) you may obtain to illustrate to the class the topic or area you are studying. Ask if you can take pictures.
Before you leave, make sure to obtain contact information should any further clarification be needed.
Report
You should use Word for your report. The project report should be written in a formal business format. You should send a copy, or link, to the manager you interviewed.

The company we chose was Banana Republic, the clothing company. and this is the part that i have to do.

6.Analysis of a specific process, department, or function of your choice (4-7 pages).
This section is the main part of the paper. It should address ways the firm has used in the last 3-5 years to increase productivity, improve quality, or both.
Analyze the main processes and flows. You may follow a specific example by tracing the production of one particular product item or a particular task performed by someone you observed.
Describe the basic tools and equipment used: hardware, software, networks, data; use diagrams, photos, where appropriate.
Identify and examine critical procedures, people and essential skills.

What does the American Dream mean in today’s world? Is it still feasible or merely a myth in 2015?

What does the American Dream mean in today’s world? Is it still feasible or merely a myth in 2015? Establish your understanding of what the Dream is and use Brandon King’s “The American Dream: Dead, Alive, or on Hold?” and Cal Thomas’s “Is the American Dream Over?” to help illustrate your argument. Develop a “hook” that will draw your reader’s attention. Provide a three-to-four sentence summary of the articles in the introduction, and make certain to introduce the title of the articles and its respective writer. Use at least ONE secondary source outside the article. This source should reflect the views of critics of literature as well as the informative views of expert opinion and use academic sources not wiki etc . Make sure that the sources relate to your argument making certain to maintain third-person point of view. Merely summarizing the plays or articles will earn you a D at best. Rather, I want a consistent, convincing argument that draws parallels between your subject and the work you examine.

What does B. mean when he says that race is a process rather than an essential biological fact?

The following questions are just meant to get you from start to finish in the article. Try to stick with Bantum’s argument all the way through even if you find yourself questioning it at certain points. We will have time in class to discuss the complexities and implications of Bantum’s claims in this article. Do keep in mind as you read this that when he’s discussing racialized consciousness he is talking about more than just the black/white racial dynamic.

1. B. says that race is no longer a beast armed with bold ignorance and legal codification. What is it now?

2. What does B. mean when he says that race is a process rather than an essential biological fact?

3. Give some examples of ways that B. thinks race has become embedded within the pattern and hopes associated with our identities. Put another way, what are B’s examples of how race is still alive in the U.S. today?

4. Having read the full article, give a short explanation of the title of the article, or why B. thinks that Christians cannot be “post-racial”

5. Finally, give at least one example of how race plays a role in the compus community. If you don’t think that it does, write a couple of sentences explaining why.

due 12/2 midnight, do not need to write too much, just a few sentences or a small paragraph for each question
