Identify an appropriate design approach for the process you have chosen.

This is part one of a two part assignment starting with an introductory look at process design and supply chains.

Identify a company with which you are familiar. This could be your place of employment, a car wash, a yard service company, and so forth.

Create an MS PowerPoint Presentation in which you describe the current state of your selected company’s supply chain and an identified process.

Required Elements:

Describe the company’s supply chain
Identify a process internal to the company that you wish to analyze.
Describe the process internal to the company that you wish to analyze.
Identify an appropriate design approach for the process you have chosen.
Create a high-level AS IS process flow chart using an appropriate tool.
Identify at least one metric to measure the process and its application (how, what, when, and who).
Use an appropriate tool to collect data for each step of the process.
PowerPoint includes 4-5 slides with detailed speaker notes

What are the reasons you would prefer to test market your company’s new tablet product in your chosen country.

You have been assigned the job of researching the economies of two countries in order to choose which country will be the subject of test marketing for your company’s new product, a computer tablet that will sell for the retail price of $50(Us dollars).

Each students will be assigned two countries. ( Iceland and Finland)

(a). Write a 1 page report on the current macroeconomic state of each country. Your report may include graphs and /or tables illsutrating the macroeconomic statistics.(1 page per country is maximum).

(b). Write 1 page outlining your choice of country and an explanation to support your choice. Based on economic data, what are the reasons you would prefer to test market your company’s new tablet product in your chosen country.

Ensure you use proper referencing of all information, including data

What do they mean about our equal pay for equal work question?

Measurement and Description – chapters 1 and 2

1 Measurement issues. Data, even numerically coded variables, can be one of 4 levels –
nominal, ordinal, interval, or ratio. It is important to identify which level a variable is, as
this impact the kind of analysis we can do with the data. For example, descriptive statistics
such as means can only be done on interval or ratio level data.
Please list under each label, the variables in our data set that belong in each group.
Nominal Ordinal Interval Ratio

b. For each variable that you did not call ratio, why did you make that decision?

2 The first step in analyzing data sets is to find some summary descriptive statistics for key variables.
For salary, compa, age, performance rating, and service; find the mean, standard deviation, and range for 3 groups: overall sample, Females, and Males.
You can use either the Data Analysis Descriptive Statistics tool or the Fx =average and =stdev functions.
(the range must be found using the difference between the =max and =min functions with Fx) functions.
Note: Place data to the right, if you use Descriptive statistics, place that to the right as well.

3 What is the probability for a: Probability
a. Randomly selected person being a male in grade E?
b. Randomly selected male being in grade E?
Note part b is the same as given a male, what is probabilty of being in grade E?
c. Why are the results different?

4 For each group (overall, females, and males) find: Overall Female Male
a. The value that cuts off the top 1/3 salary in each group. Hint: can use these Fx functions
b. The z score for each value: Excel’s standize function
c. The normal curve probability of exceeding this score: 1-normsdist function
d. What is the empirical probability of being at or exceeding this salary value?
e. The value that cuts off the top 1/3 compa in each group.
f. The z score for each value:
g. The normal curve probability of exceeding this score:
h. What is the empirical probability of being at or exceeding this compa value?
i. How do you interpret the relationship between the data sets? What do they mean about our equal pay for equal work question?

5. What conclusions can you make about the issue of male and female pay equality? Are all of the results consistent?
What is the difference between the sal and compa measures of pay?

Conclusions from looking at salary results:

Conclusions from looking at compa results:

Do both salary measures show the same results?

Can we make any conclusions about equal pay for equal work yet?

What are the strengths and the weaknesses of his or her leadership of the organization?

Students will write a written report on any organization that they wish to study for its organizational behavior and leadership. The organization may be a for profit corporation listed on a stock exchange, a smaller for profit corporation non stock exchange listed corporation, a nonprofit corporation such as a college or hospital or charity, or a government organization. The rsport will be at least five single spaced pages and not more than seven single spaced pages. If you prefer to write your report double spaced, you may do so by doubling the number of pages. At least one page should be on each of the questions asked below. Charts and graphs will not be counted in the pages. Over length and under length reports will be penalized. Be sure to answer all four of the questions and please number each question you answer

1. Briefly discuss the leadership of the CEO of the organization. What are the strengths and the weaknesses of his or her leadership of the organization?

2. Discuss the external environment for the organization at this time. This discussion will require an analysis of the social, cultural, political and legal, economic, technological, physical environmental and competitive forces affecting the organization and the Organizational Behavior consequences of this external environment.

3. Prepare a financial analysis of your organization using the most recent financial data you secure from the organization or from the internet. Compare the financial health of the organization to others in the same field and decide whether the organization is financially viable at this time.

4. Develop and write a plan to improve the organizational behavior of this organization. What can be done to both satisfy the mission of the organization and to expand opportunities for the management and staff of the organization if possible? What would you recommend to the CEO of this organization as to organizational behavior issues in this organization?

Each of the four questions above are worth 25 points. Be sure to answer a four questions with at least one page devoted to each question

Why and how does implying transparency and honesty to consumers make Johnson and Johnson’s crisis response effective?

Paper Requirements Your paper will include: 1. An introduction that synopsizes the crisis in 3-4 sentences and concludes with a thesis statement that asserts three claims about how/why the company was (in)effective in its crisis management. 2. Three body paragraphs, each of which argues one of your three claims. 3. A conclusion that restates your thesis and then offers information about where the company is today in no more than 3-4 sentences. Formatting Requirements—READ CAREFULLY 1. Cite all sources using APA Style. An APA style guide is on Blackboard (Only the citations need to be in APA style; the paper itself does not need to be written in APA style.) 2. No more than 4 pages (not including Works Cited page, which can be a fifth page) 3. 12 point Times New Roman or Calibri font, double spaced 4. 1-inch page margins for top/bottom and left/right 5. Your header should appear at the top of the first page, RIGHT JUSTIFIED and SINGLE SPACED – see example bolded below: (Student Name) BA 2196 Section (identify)/(Professor Name) Writing Assignment: Crisis Communicatio ***ESTABLISHING YOUR THESIS*** You must assert a thesis—1 sentence—arguing your 3 claims articulating why the company effectively or ineffectively managed its crisis (NOTE: Each strategy claim—you’ll have 3 total—consists of both WHAT (ACTION) and WHY (INTERPRETATION) details) o Example of REQUIRED THESIS SETUP: “Johnson & Johnson effectively managed its crisis in the following ways: by preemptively recalling Tylenol nationwide, the company showed that it cared more about public safety than about profit; by innovating the new safety measure of sealed bottles before putting Tylenol back on the market, the company reassured customers that the crisis could not happen again; and by calling attention to its corporate credo in its apology, the company implied transparency and honesty to consumers.” o Example of TOPIC SENTENCES for each body paragraph: • Body paragraph 1 topic sentence: By preemptively recalling Tylenol nationwide, the company showed that it cared more about public safety than about profit. • Body paragraph 2 topic sentence: By innovating the new safety measure of sealed bottles before putting Tylenol back on the market, the company reassured customers that the crisis could not happen again. • Body paragraph 3 topic sentence: By calling attention to its corporate credo in its apology, the company implied transparency and honesty to consumers. ***MAKING YOUR ARGUMENTS*** Your paper must contain three body paragraphs, each arguing one of your thesis claims. Each body paragraph must include a topic sentence (see above), evidence and analysis. o EVIDENCE consists of facts, i.e., actions that the company took, and the relevant context in which the company took those actions. o ANALYSIS has two parts. o Analysis part one provides your interpretation of facts to prove your topic sentence. For example, it gives a thoughtful and well-reasoned response to the question: “Why and how does Johnson and Johnson’s calling attention to the corporate credo in its apology imply transparency and honesty to consumers?” o Analysis part two connects that interpretation back to your thesis’s argument of whether the company in question was effective or ineffective in managing its crisis. For example, it gives a thoughtful and well-reasoned response to the question: “Why and how does implying transparency and honesty to consumers make Johnson and Johnson’s crisis response effective?
