Individual Assignment: Group Case Study Project:

Each week, as you consider the Crocs: Revolutionizing an Industry’s Supply Chain Model for Competitive Advantage case study, you will have two Group Project assignments to complete. One will involve a Group Discussion and the other will be an Individual Assignment. The information from both parts will be used for your final Group Case Study Project.

Reflect on the effects of a lean system on workers and managers as demonstrated in the video program.

Your white paper that you have developed on your selected K-12 assessment topic is now ready for you to present to the locally elected board of the school district. Create a presentation using Prezi or similar software in order to present your research to the task force. The information within your presentation will assist the Task Force in developing a district-wide professional development plan geared toward improving the overall test scores of the schools within the district.

Present your findings in ten (10) slides using Prezi, PowerPoint, or a presentation software of your choice. (Note: Notify the professor on Week 7 concerning the software you choose to use for the presentation).
Include a title slide and references section (These two [2] slides are not part of the ten (10) slide requirement).
Develop a creative, appealing presentation using your chosen tool for a professional audience, using two to three (2-3) colors, two to three (2-3) fonts, and two to three (2-3) other visuals.
Provide coherent, clear, organized, and substantive content that can be easily understood by the audience.
Provide audio narration of the presentation slides as if you were delivering the speech (Note: If you do not have access to a microphone, then you should provide detailed speaker notes with your presentation.)

Provide an overview of the white paper. The overview should include, at a minimum, background on your topic and its relevance to K-12 assessment and the demographics of the district.
Discuss the significant recommendations that you have made within the white paper regarding changes to the district’s current assessment goals.
Provide three (3) methods by which the Task Force might use the white paper in order to develop a district-wide professional development plan geared toward improving the overall test scores of the district.
Create a section of the presentation (last five [5] slides) in which you:
Provide your personal reflection in which you highlight what you have learned from developing the white paper as well as what you have learned during this course.
Provide your personal reflection on the new technologies that you researched in Assignment 3 and the manner in which such technologies have changed your views on how to approach assessment in the classroom.
Provide your personal reflection on the manner in which you would implement the recommendations made in Assignment 3 within your own school district or within your classroom practices. Provide specific examples of the changes that you have already made or would like to make.

Directions for submitting your presentation:

Submit your presentation to the area designated by your professor.
Review at least one (1) other classmate’s presentation and post a response indicating what you learned by identifying two (2) specific points that your classmate made in the presentation.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.

The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:

Apply new advances and current thought in the field of educational assessment.
Analyze traditional theories of assessment.
Use technology and information resources to research issues in educational assessment.
Write clearly and concisely about educational assessment using proper grammar and mechanics.

In this course, you will complete two RAs that make up 50% of your total class grade. In RA 1, you will write a reaction paper to evaluate the research methodologies used in a particular study.

In RA 2, you will use what you have learned about research questions and literature reviews to write a well-structured research question on a human services topic that interests you, in addition to writing a literature review on this topic.

As you are working through this course, one aspect of both analyzing a study and considering the development of your own study is being able to apply the ethical standards of research as set for by the APA. In addition to formulating your plan for completing your two assignments, you will also apply what you learned from the article by Nagy (2011) to a research study of your choice.

Tasks:

Part 1:

• Carefully review the descriptions of the RAs. Prepare a time line for each assignment for completing each part of these assignments.
• For each task that you include in the time line, describe what you will do to complete it. List the types of resources and information you will need to obtain in order to complete each task, as well as the strategy you will use to collect information from these resources.
• Submit the research question that you would like to use as the foundation for your literature review due in Module 5.

Part 2:

Using the Argosy University online library resources, locate a research study (professional literature) from the human services field. Professional literature may include the Argosy University online library resources, relevant textbooks, peer-reviewed journal articles, and websites created by professional organizations, agencies, or institutions (.edu, .org, or .gov).

In a 2–3 page paper, respond to the following using the APA style:

• Provide a brief overview of your selected study, making sure that you cover the purpose of the study, the methodology used, the participants, the way the data was collected and analyzed, and the outcomes.
• If you were the researcher conducting this study and found that you were not familiar with the particular research population, what steps would you take to prepare yourself to conduct the research with this population?
• In developing an informed consent form for participation in research, what are the eight basic elements you would include in the form as applied to your selected study? Make sure that you provide the details of each element as though you were constructing an informed consent form to provide to your participants.
• How does this research study contribute to the field of human services? How does it benefit society? Does this benefit outweigh the possible risks associated with the study? Discuss.
• Was any deception used in this study? If so, why was this deception necessary? If not, do you think that the study would have benefited from any kind of deception? Explain.
• What is the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and what role does it play in research? Explain with reference to your selected study.

Revising and Proofing Your Final Paper

It is important to have a plan for ensuring the style and correctness of your document are up to standards before you deliver it to your readers. In the case of a memo or other short document, even only one or two errors can cause major distractions. In the case of a resume, a single error can put you out of competition.

This week, we covered several topics pertaining to the implementation phase of the policymaking process. The budget as an implementation tool and how budget allocations reflect policy decisions were examined. Then, we discussed the critical role of monitoring and evaluation in ensuring that the public interest was being served. Finally, democratic approaches to public administration were reviewed within the context of how advances in technology, specifically in e-government, can be useful in that effort.

Review the concept of e-government and how the use of technology has transformed many public sector processes. Explain how each of the policy goals (equity, efficiency, liberty, and security) has been influenced by the implementation of e-government practices. Address how budget allocations towards e-government and technology services reflect policy and influence attainment of targeted outcomes. Support your answers with examples not previously offered in the lecture notes, i.e., from personal experience or research sources
