Briefly summarize the major points from your paper and reiterate why your proposed study is needed.

Design a research study on the topic of the study selected in Week One and critiqued in Week Three. Your design should seek to resolve the limitations you identified in the study you critiqued. Your paper must address all of the components required in the “Methods” section of a research proposal:

State the research question and/or hypothesis.
Specify the approach (qualitative or quantitative), research design, sampling strategy, data collection procedures, and data analysis techniques to be used.
If the design is quantitative, also describe the variables, measures, and statistical tests you would use.
Analyze ethical issues that may arise and explain how you would handle these issues.

Your Final Paper must be eight to ten pages in length (excluding title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. Utilize a minimum of six peer-reviewed sources that were published within the last 10 years, in addition to the textbook, that are documented in APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. The sources should consist of the following:

One source should be the article you critiqued in the Week Three assignment.
At least two sources should be about the research methodology you have chosen for your study.
At least one source should be on ethical issues in research.
The remaining sources may be about anything pertinent to your study.

In accordance with APA style, all references listed must be cited in the body of the paper.

Required Sections and Subsections (use these headings in your paper)

Introduction – Introduce the research topic, explain why it is important, and present your research question and/or hypothesis.
Literature Review – Summarize the current state of knowledge on your topic, making reference to the findings of previous research studies (including the one you critiqued in Week Three). Briefly analyze and critique these studies and mention the research methods that have previously been used to study the topic. State whether your proposed study is a replication of a previous study or a new approach using methods that have not been used before. Be sure to properly cite all of your sources in APA style.
Methods

Design – Indicate whether your proposed study is qualitative or quantitative in approach. Identify the specific research design, using one of the designs we have studied in Weeks Three through Five, and indicate whether it is experimental or non-experimental. Evaluate your chosen design and explain why you believe this design is appropriate for the topic and how it will provide the information you need to answer the research question. Cite sources on research methodology to support your choices.
Participants – Identify and describe the sampling strategy you would use to recruit participants for your study. Estimate the number of participants you would need and explain why your sampling method is appropriate for your research design and approach.
Procedure/Measures – Apply the scientific method by describing the steps you would use in carrying out your study. Indicate whether you will use any kind of test, questionnaire, or measurement instrument. If using an existing published instrument, provide a brief description and cite your source. If you are creating a questionnaire, survey, or test, describe the types of information you will gather and explain how you would establish the validity and reliability. If you are not using such an instrument, describe how you would collect the data.
Data Analysis – Describe the statistical techniques (if quantitative) or the analysis procedure (if qualitative) you plan to use to analyze the data. Cite at least one source on the chosen analysis technique (from your Week Two assignment).
Ethical Issues – Analyze the impact of ethical concerns on your proposed study, such as confidentiality, deception, informed consent, potential harm to participants, conflict of interest, IRB approval, etc. After analyzing the ethical issues that apply to your research proposal, indicate what you would do to handle these concerns.

What are the steps in the planning process? Which step is the most crucial? Why?

3.  There are many industries where it is mandated that some money must go back in to the community. Many professional athletes are expected to give back as part of their contracts and many businesses do it, not because they believe it is good, but because they know someone is watching.

So does it matter? Does it matter if the money hungry organization gives back to try and give an image that they believe will help them make more money?

There are many types of philosophical beliefs, however the two that I always remember are Utilitarian and Deontological.

Utilitarian: The Ends Justify the Means. I.e. it does not matter what you do as long as in the end it is good?

Deontological: The journey defines the destination. Meaning it does not matter what happens in the end, it is how you got there that matters.

In business, there is often a Utilitarian approach, which is what causes many of the issues that the text has stated about unethical behavior. Sometime, somewhere a person decided, “I can skirt the rules as long as in the end I am successful.” Whether this is right or wrong is an individual choice, but for this post.

How can a company’s MISSION Statement determine which of these philosophies is followe

Discuss whether or not Texas was really a possible objective of European colonial desires during the 1820s and 1830s or whether the annexation of Texas on the part of the U.S. was preventive in nature and meant to forestall European violation of the Monroe Doctrine.

choose two questions from the list below and respond—be sure to identify which numbers you’re responding to and to devote at least two paragraphs to each question’s response. Submit your response to the Discussion Area. Then start reviewing and responding to your classmates as early in the week as possible.

Question 1:

There was a large westward expansion movement between the years of 1815 and 1850. Examine this movement westward by a sizeable population. Discuss whether this was a continuation of the westward expansion movement experienced earlier in the century. Was this a desire on the part of people out to get a new deal and a fresh start or the result of population pressure in the crowded East? Offer examples from your reading to support your position.

Question 2:

Consider the role of Texas in the conflict between the U.S. and Mexico. Discuss whether or not Texas was really a possible objective of European colonial desires during the 1820s and 1830s or whether the annexation of Texas on the part of the U.S. was preventive in nature and meant to forestall European violation of the Monroe Doctrine. Explain why you have come to this conclusion.

Question 3:

Discuss the various issues confronting the nation in the 1850s that so inflamed the passions of people in both the North and the South such that peaceful compromise became less and less a possibility in the election of 1860. Do you ever foresee a time when America might reach a similar impasse that could lead to another Civil War? What issues would likely create this situation?

Question 4:

The North had to actually win the Civil War militarily to save the Union and free the slaves. The South, on the other hand, needed only a tie to bring the North to the negotiating table in a move that would have guaranteed that the South would remain an independent entity. Discuss what military actions the South would have had to take to have caused things to end in a tie.

Question 5:

In the eyes of many historians, Reconstruction failed. Explain your views using specific information to support your position.

Respond to both questions as thoroughly as possible, making sure to use information from the readings and the lectures. All responses should be in complete sentence form, using proper spelling and gramma

In your future role, how will you use this information?

Read the following excerpt from “Understanding Digital Kids (DKs): Technology & Learning in the New Digital Landscape,” an article regarding learning today:

Recently, there were two recent cover stories in Time Magazine: Their conclusion was that children today are different. In fact, based on what we now know from the neurosciences and psychological sciences, what we’re now beginning to understand is that children today are FUNDAMENTALLY different than we are in the way they think, in the way they access, absorb, interpret, process and use information, and in the way they view, interact, and communicate in the modern world because of their experiences with digital technologies. If this is the case, it holds profound implications for all of us personally and professionally (Jukes, 2008, p. 14).

Reflect on this selection and respond to the following questions:

•What are your thoughts on this statement?

•Do you feel today’s learner has a different way of learning than in the past? Defend your position.

•In your future role, how will you use this information?

•What implications does this have for your future role?

Language Acquisition Resource

Many resources are available to help us continue to develop our knowledge of language acquisition. As professionals, you will need to identify and evaluate the resources available to you. Please spend some time evaluating professional resources linked to language acquisition.

For this discussion, choose a specific language acquisition topic to explore further. Several examples include our previous topics of bilingualism, communication disorders, language developmental stages, brain research, supportive language acquisition practices, family support of language acquisition, etc. Write the topic you explored in the subject line of your discussion post. Then, provide three sources that can be used to learn more about this topic. Your sources may include a journal article, webpage, video, research, podcast, etc. Include links where appropriate, and be sure to cite all sources in APA format.

Your 300-350 word post should include the following for each selected source:

•Summary of the resource

•How it supports language acquisition in children

•How you will use it specifically for your future professional role

•An APA-formatted reference of the source so your peers can access and review it

Explain how evidence that would have been found without the questionable search that violates the exclusionary rule could ultimately be admissible as evidence.

You are an investigator with the District Attorney’s Investigation Team for a major metropolitan area. You are one of the recently hired 16 new investigators that will be sprinkled throughout the department. All 16 of you have had little time as investigators and the Chief’s concern is that you all are properly trained in issues of the exclusionary rule to avoid problems later on during investigations. This is a political hot potato because these are supposed to be the best investigators in the jurisdiction. You have already provided an extensive paper to your new fellow investigators and noticed an interest they had in exceptions to the Exclusionary Rule. You have decided to provide a 3 page addendum to last week’s training to address some of the exceptions.

In a 3 page paper, please include responses to the bulleted issues listed below. It is critical that when you make a statement of fact in your presentation that you cite the reference you obtained the information from in the text of the paper and that the reference is included in your reference page. As always your paper will be submitted in the APA format current edition. No abstract is required as this is a short position paper but a title page, reference page, and appropriate running header with page numbers are necessary.

Detail the concept for admissibility of plain sight evidence and the legal requirements for the investigator to invoke a plain sight seizure.
Explain how evidence that would have been found without the questionable search that violates the exclusionary rule could ultimately be admissible as evidence.
Relate how the court views investigators and realizes that human error will sometimes result in faulty paperwork. Explain how the court allows for such errors in the “Good Faith” principle.
The student will select two of the three concepts known as dying declaration, the silver platter rule, and exigent circumstance. The student will expound on the meaning of each and why the court believes in such exceptions to constitutional requirements
The student will articulate the types of situations where it is permissible to lie to a suspect to elicit a confession. What aspects would be allowed by the court and what would be prohibited.

Be sure to reference all sources using APA style and no more then 25% plaigiarism.

Does your selected organization have a focused strategy that differentiates it from other companies in the same marketplace?

The goal of conducting a competitor analysis is to gather information about the company’s competitors and systematically formulate a strategy to become the market leader in the industry. In formulating any strategy, it is imperative that the company understand its organizational structure as well as the internal and external forces which could impact their strategic decisions.

Based on the company you chose in the previous module, analyze the organization’s mission, vision, and values, its ability to compete, and the effectiveness of its management team in executing strategy. Some of the factors to be considered in doing this evaluation include the company’s internal resource capabilities, its relative cost position, and its competitive strength. In addition, evaluate the competitive strategy of your selected organization and examine how this strategic approach drives the rest of the strategic actions the company undertakes in terms of product line, production emphasis, marketing emphasis, and the means for sustaining the strategy. Make sure to include at least one analytical tool such as SWOT analysis, Porter’s, BCG, etc. in your analysis.

Research your selected organization’s strategy and analyze the following elements:

The organization’s mission, vision, and values. What does it tell you about the company, their culture, their direction? Does it convey the purpose and primary objectives of the company? If so, how, if not what is missing?
The organization’s strategic goals. Based on your research, what are the top three strategic goals of your chosen company?
The relative alignment of strategic goals with the organization’s mission, vision, and values. Include at least three examples of how the strategic goals help and/or hinder the organization in achieving its mission, vision, and values.
Additions or changes you would recommend to the strategic goals to better achieve the company’s mission, vision, and values. Include at least two additions or changes and justify your response.
Describe the relevant external factors and influences (at least 3) which could affect the decisions the company makes about its direction, objectives, strategy, and business model.
Describe the Internal factors and influences (at least 3) which could impact the company’s decision making such as the company’s market position and its competencies, capabilities, resource strengths and weaknesses, and competitiveness.
Does your selected organization have a focused strategy that differentiates it from other companies in the same marketplace? Explain your answer.
Is the organization seeking a competitive advantage by taking the initiative in the marketplace? Explain your answer.
Does the organization have a strategy for competing in international markets? Does it appear to have a solid understanding of local customer needs and preferences to create customized products or services? Does it appear to know how to transfer company expertise to initiate actions to compete internationally?
Make sure you utilize at least one analytical tool in your analysis of this section.
