Essay #5 Prompt—Alice in Wonderland
Alice in Wonderland is a fantastical story full of very colorful characters, but are they sane? Do some research (try http://users.ipfw.edu/abbott/120/PsychDisorders.html) on psychological disorders, such as schizophrenia, obsessive compulsive disorder, sociopaths, anxiety, etc. and “diagnose” four of the characters in the story and explain why and how they fit the disorder. Use at least five quotations from the text and/or outside research to support your claims. The essay should be in MLA format. See syllabus for due date.

For each example, first diagnose the character with his or her disorder in the topic sentence. Then, define what the disorder is and its symptoms; cite your source. Lastly, argue why the character has this disorder by using examples and quotations from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland; cite your quotations.
