Discuss interrogation tactics that lead to false confession, specifying at least 2 examples and explain the reason they are considered coercive.

You are a forensic psychologist working with Forensic Consultants, Inc. An attorney is using your services as a consultant in a case. During a meeting with the attorney, the attorney tells you that the client, while undergoing police interrogation, confessed to murder. When the attorney asked the client, the client reported to being not guilty.

As you conduct a preliminary investigation, draw up a plan on how you will assist your the attorney with this case. The plan should answer the following questions posed by the attorney:

What specific factors about police interrogative tactics do you think will be important to the defense strategy? Discuss interrogation tactics that lead to false confession, specifying at least two examples and explain the reason they are considered coercive. Include information about how this would look in an actual interrogation and how the client experienced this behavior.
Will you look for any specific personality characteristics in the client? What are they and why will they help or hurt your case? Are issues of competency going to come up? Discuss information about what types of people are more at risk with coercive interrogation tactics. Include at least one research study that has demonstrated this risk.
What type of personality assessment instrument will you want to use to either identify or rule out the characteristics listed in question 2? Be specific and support your answer: Identify at least one psychological test that can be used and include information on why it would be useful in determining whether a person was vulnerable.

Based on the client’s response to police interrogation, how should you conduct your interview? Specifically, what should you avoid when attempting to gather accurate information from the client?

Create a presentation to give to the attorney. You will need to explain each of your arguments. You should expect to have 30 minutes to present your arguments. You should include detailed speaker notes to assist in your presentation. Please make sure to have at least 12 slides for review besides a title slide and a References slide. Each slide should be thoroughly referenced and cited based in psychological research, using APA formatting.

the coursework exercise to design, present and defend a formal professional analysis of narratives concerning a current public issue.with the presentation element being a compulsory requirement)

Research area,

Research interests,

Methodology used in your subject area (strengths and weaknesses of this approach)

Your qualitative investigation (the rationale for his investigation and literature review that leads readers to the research questions)

Your research questions, the data you wish to collect and how you think you will collect it

Your proposed qualitative data collection instrument (evaluation of the strengths, weaknesses limitations)

Triangulation – how will you achieve this

When you find a publication you should answer these questions when writing about it:
============================
What is the story of this text?
How is it told? Comment on the form of the telling.
Who is the author?
Who is the audience?
How do you think the story and it’s telling might change if it was addressed to a different audience?
Narrative diacronicity: how does time operate in this narrative and its telling?
Mapping: where are the narrative, the narrator and the audience located?
Intention: what are the motivations of the narrator? What are your motivations as a reader?
Internal coherence: does the narrative make sense? Are all parts of it constituting a whole?
Normativeness: can you locate the moral code/normativeness of this narrative in a cultural/political/ideological context? Do you identify with it? How might this affect your (and others’) reading of the text?
Context: what can you tell about the context from the text? Do you think you might need further contextual information in order to find meaning in the text?
Narrative accrual: is this particular narrative contributing to larger social metanarratives?
Remember, narrative analysis aims to find meaning, not truth, and multiple interpretations and meanings are embraced.

I have attached a narrative publication example , please find it and please read my proposal so you can pick a publication that is related to my study

Order Description

The following appeared in a brief article in a major business newspaper: A local court is in the process of ruling on whether the public accounting firm of James Willis and Co., CPAs, PC, should be required to pay all or part of $16 million in damages relating to Geiger Co. for failing to detect a scheme to defraud the company, a former audit client.

Geiger Co., an SEC registrant, charges that Willis was negligent in failing to discover fraud committed by the company’s controller and wants Willis to foot the bill for all $16 million in claims by and against the company. The company claims that if it had known about the fraud, it could have stopped it and recovered financially. The bank involved claims that it granted the loan based on misstated financial statements. The shareholders involved claim that they purchased the stock on the American Stock Exchange at an inflated price due to the misstated financial statements. They acknowledge that while stock had been outstanding and traded for 10 years prior to the fraud, they made their investment decisions relying upon the misstated financial statements.

Willis’s general counsel said, “We anxiously await a decision that will show that CPAs are not guarantors for everything that goes on in the company.” Geiger Co.’s lawyer said that she anxiously awaited a decision because it will “clearly show that CPAs are liable for finding fraud.” Assume that Willis performed that audit with ordinary negligence and this ordinary negligence is the reason that the defalcation was not discovered and recovered. Further, assume that the $16,000,000 of loss is properly allocated as follows:

Company itself $8,000,000
Bank that gave a commercial loan 5,000,000
Shareholders 3,000,000

Reply from the perspective that the only issues involved here are whether the plaintiffs involved may recover from a CPA that has performed the engagement with this degree of negligence. Assume the situation described above, and assume that other elements of proof (e.g., loss, proximate cause) are not at issue.

Address only A & B below: Note in your paper which two options you are addressing: a case brought under common law, under the Securities Act of 1933, or under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.

A. Assume that the case is brought under common law, and that the state in which Geiger Co. is headquartered follows the known user approach for third-party legal liability.

1. Should Willis be found liable to the company, Geiger Co., itself? Explain.

2. Should Willis be found liable if sued by a bank that used the financial statements as a basis for providing a loan and, due to the misstatement, lost $5 million on the loan? Explain.

3. Should Willis be found liable if sued by shareholders who invested in the stock of the company? Assume these investors invested relying upon the misstated financial statements and as a result lost $3 million. Explain.

4. Which of answers 1, 2, and 3 might change if the jurisdiction involved followed the restatement of torts approach? Explain.

B. Assume that the case is brought under the Securities Act of 1933. Answer the following from the perspective of CPA liability under that act.

Explain.

4. Which, if any, of answers 1, 2, and 3 might change if the stock involved had been issued to the public for the first time and the financial statements involved had been included in a registration statement for the securities? Explain.

Explain.

4. Which, if any, of answers 1, 2, and 3 might change if the stock involved had been issued to the public for the first time and the financial statements involved had been included in a registration statement for the securities? Explain.
